If you've got a pile of lower-value clothing waiting to be listed, now could be a particularly good time to get some of it onto eBay.
eBay is currently offering buyers free Click & Collect on eligible fashion items priced at £20 or less, with eBay covering the delivery cost when the buyer chooses an eligible collection option.
For resellers, that could make lower-priced clothing, footwear and accessories more attractive to buyers, particularly where postage would normally represent a significant chunk of the total purchase price.
The promotion is currently scheduled to run until 31 October 2026.
How does eBay's free Click & Collect offer work?
For qualifying listings, buyers can choose an eligible Click & Collect option at checkout without paying the usual delivery charge.
The seller still sends the parcel using eBay's Simple Delivery process. The difference is that eBay covers the Click & Collect delivery cost for the buyer when the purchase qualifies for the promotion.
Eligible collection services can include InPost, Evri and Royal Mail, depending on the options available for the order.
There is no separate promotion that sellers need to opt into. If the seller, listing and transaction meet eBay's eligibility requirements, the offer can be applied automatically.
Which eBay listings qualify?
There are some important conditions.
According to eBay's current promotion terms, qualifying items need to:
- Be sold by an eligible UK private seller
- Be listed in an eligible Clothes, Shoes & Accessories category
- Be priced at £20 or less
- Use a Buy It Now listing rather than an auction
- Use Simple Delivery
- Have postage set to be paid by the buyer
- Be eligible for an eBay Click & Collect service
The £20 threshold applies to the item price and does not include eBay's Buyer Protection fee.
The promotion is currently due to end on 31 October 2026, so qualifying items also need to sell within the promotional period.
You should check eBay's current promotion terms before relying on the offer, as eligibility and promotional conditions can change.
There's an important date for existing listings
At the moment, the promotion applies to eligible newly listed items.
However, eBay says that from 22 September 2026, eligible existing listings can also qualify.
That's worth knowing if you already have a sizeable eBay inventory priced below £20.
It also means that resellers sitting on a backlog of unlisted clothing have an opportunity to start getting those items online now rather than waiting until later in the promotion.
Why could this matter to resellers?
Postage has a disproportionate effect on cheaper items.
Take a £10 or £12 piece of clothing. Add several pounds for delivery and the buyer's total cost suddenly looks considerably less attractive.
Remove that delivery charge for Click & Collect and the proposition changes.
This could be particularly interesting for resellers who have traditionally favoured Vinted for lower-value clothing because of the way buyers perceive the overall cost of cheaper items.
It doesn't mean an item will automatically sell because Click & Collect is free, and it certainly doesn't mean every piece of sub-£20 stock should suddenly be moved to eBay.
But it does remove one potential barrier for the buyer.
And if you've got a death pile full of £5 to £20 clothing that you've been putting off listing, that's a pretty good reason to reconsider it.
Could it be worth cross-listing more clothing on eBay?
Potentially, yes.
One of the advantages of reselling across multiple marketplaces is that you're not relying on a single platform to find the buyer for an item.
An item that gets very little attention on Vinted might perform differently on eBay, and vice versa.
With eBay temporarily removing the Click & Collect delivery cost for buyers on qualifying lower-priced fashion, the next few weeks could be a useful opportunity to test more of your stock on the platform.
That doesn't necessarily mean abandoning Vinted or Depop.
It means giving your inventory another chance to be discovered.
Don't forget to track the numbers
More listings are only useful if they're making you money.
If you're increasing the amount of stock you're putting onto eBay, keep track of:
- What you originally paid for each item
- Which marketplaces it is listed on
- Your eventual selling price
- Packaging and other selling costs
- Your actual profit
- Your return on investment
A £15 sale might look great when the item cost £2. It looks rather different if you paid £10 for it.
Knowing those numbers becomes increasingly important as your inventory grows.
That's also one of the reasons we're building FlipRev, a reseller inventory and profit management app designed to make it easier to keep track of stock, sales, costs and performance without relying on an increasingly complicated spreadsheet.
If you'd like to know when FlipRev becomes available, you can join the pre-launch list for early-access and launch updates.
The bottom line
eBay's free Click & Collect promotion isn't going to magically make every piece of clothing sell.
But for UK resellers with plenty of lower-value fashion stock, it's an interesting opportunity.
With qualifying items priced at £20 or less potentially available to buyers with no Click & Collect delivery charge, some stock that might previously have felt better suited to Vinted could become more competitive on eBay.
And with the promotion currently running until 31 October 2026, there is still plenty of time to take advantage of it.
So if you've been staring at a death pile thinking I'll list that lot eventually, this might be as good an excuse as any to get started.
